Great Art Deco green glazed ceramic panther by Rochard. Signed.Irénée Rochard (1906-1984) was a French decorative sculptor best known for his Art Nouveau style depictions of animals. His meticulous observations of animals led him to create highly realistic sculptural representations. In 1931, he won a gold medal at the Exposition Coloniale. He also became a member of the Society of French Artists in 1938.This panther is incredibly elegant and will bring a dose of Art Deco glamour to any interior.
