Product description
Antique English cabinet, tallboy, also known as chest on chest because it is made of 2 parts stacked on top of each other, made of solid oak and mahogany veneer, George III chest of drawers from the early 19th century, United Kingdom. This impressive and very large cabinet has at the top a cornice with shaped edge, a selection of 8 drawers, 2 narrow 6 long drawers varying in size, all with oak interior and partly original brass gooseneck handles, the sides are also finished with mahogany veneer, the whole stands on the typical bracket legs. This cabinet is in good unrestored antique condition, with marks befitting its age, over 200 years old! Not all the handles are still original, there is a smaller handle on the lower left, along the edges some chips and cracks in the veneer, a piece of trim is missing on the left side, some superficial scratches and dents, but the cabinet still looks fantastic and is brimming with character. This tallboy has been polished, waxed and refinished, some of the trim around the drawers has been replaced at some point, check the photos for more details! Dimensions: 126x55x184cm.
